Who we are:
YoungPeople@Work (YP@W) (Reg nr: NPC - 2012/210099/08) is a new generation organization for unemployed young people by previously unemployed young people. Our vision is about young people engaged in productive work to enhance economic, social, cultural and spiritual development. We regard working on oneself as the most productive work! In YP@W youth are not just recipients of predesigned programmes, but active participants in the design themselves. We regard youth as assets not liabilities. We believe they have inherent talents, strengths and positive energy that must be harnessed to facilitate their holistic development to their fullest potential. We believe they can be leaders today and not just tomorrow! In YP@W we redefine the concept of work as not just an economic activity to live and survive, but more importantly  also a social activity to GROW! Hence our slogan: Living to Work, not Working to Live!

What we do and where:
We run various programmes to empower unemployed youth to access sustainable employment, learnerships/internships and further studies as part of a process of life long learning. We currently operate mostly in the Western Cape of South Africa with offices and a training centre in Bellville.

How we sustain and renew ourselves:
We constantly explore various ways of serving our unemployed youth with innovative and relevant programmes. We constantly review our work and its impact through strategic assessments. We mobilise resources raising funds from various sources such as international donors, national donors, corporates, individuals, our own income generation through fees for services, events, cost containment, discounts, volunteer labour, sale of equipment, cost recovery of printed material, interest earned on savings, recycling, membership fees, donations in kind, access to professionals providing free workshops and cultivating strategic partnerships.

You can turn the life around of an unemployed youth
by donating a once off R50 or R100
or make a monthly pledge.
