RLabs
Reconstructed Living Lab (RLabs) is a global movement and registered Social Enterprise that provides innovative solutions to address various complex problems. It creates an environment where people are empowered to make a difference in the lives of others. The RLabs “main hub” is in Athlone, Cape Town but have activity in the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and Central Africa with a goal of reaching all continents by 2012.

Reach Make It!
This partner specialises in welding and plumbing training. They attend our life skills workshops and we refer participants to them for training. Their skills training academy is based in Kuilsriver.
Dreamworker
1.DreamWorker is a community based, non profit organization, set up to help the unemployed find work. 2.We do our very best to match potential employee and employer. This we do through personal interviews with every applicant, taking care to extract the best qualities of each candidate.
3.We reference check our employees, keep copies of ID books and all important documents, such as Grade 12 certificates, references and CV’s on file.
4.We take time to mentor each applicant, stressing the importance of good references, how to prepare CV’s, communicating with employers etc. In a nutshell, we try to prepare them for a better working relationship.
5.We help them identify skills that have been dormant for a while or areas of potential training that would greatly increase their chances of finding employment.
6.All this is done at no cost to either employer or employee. Ours is truly a community service, servicing both those who are seeking employment and those seeking to employ. 7.In summary, we inspire, encourage, give renewed hope – and do our very best to find employment for the unemployed.

Keep Healing
Founded by Caren Alexander, they specialise in pampering for clients and nail tech training for mostly unemployed youth to make them employable. Participants are allowed to rent-to-buy a nail tech kit after training. We provide support in terms of marketing and coaching. Caren Alexander is a member of our Youth Business Network. |
Passion21 Photography
This company is operated by Amy-Lee Julies. She provides photo shoots and photography training. Both an introductory and intermediate course is offered. She is a member of our Youth Business Network. We provide support in terms of equipment and marketing. (A photography session in progress) |
Satellite computer training centres
We partner with members from the Food Relief Alliance of SA (FRASA) to host computer literacy classes in their respective communities to make it more accessible. NOSTOP in Scottsville and Khathalelana in Delft are currently active. We plan to roll out in more communities in future. (A computer session in progress at NOSTOP in Scottsville) |
Cyro M Ukunakekela
We partner with them to provide human resource management training. Training is facilitated by Charlene Miles with over 36 year HR experience in government, supported by guest facilitators, Frank Julie from YoungPeople@Work and Freda Camphor from Department of Employment and Labour. Training happens during the week and/or on a Saturday over 3 days. A fee is charged with a small deposit. (A group with their certificates after completing training) |
Peter Creatives - Youth Development
Based in Mitchells Plain, they provide training in sewing and pattern making, both online and in-person. A fashion show is hosted twice per year where various local fashion designers can display their products. They also operate a private company Peter Creatives, which is a member of our Youth Business Network, specialising in dress making, jewellery, bags, etc. |
